Port Stephens residents have leapt at the chance to become the first in Australia to experience Ingenia’s new concept in over 55s resort living.

Locals have snapped up the majority of homes at Ingenia Lifestyle’s Latitude One community with the first release selling out in a matter of days and the next release nearly 75 per cent reserved. The community’s first residents are set to arrive in April 2018.

Set on 29.2 hectares in the leafy suburb of Anna Bay, the $100 million Latitude One community will be the first of Ingenia Lifestyle’s new Star Collection communities to open – a collection of contemporary, resort communities.

Since construction began in mid-2017, local interest has grown exponentially with the number of sales and enquiries exceeding expectations. Locals looking to take a sneak peek at construction will soon have the opportunity to, with a new display village launching in May 2018.

Project Sales Manager Sheree Richardson said the new seniors living concept combines Ingenia Lifestyle’s unique and popular land lease ownership model with a premium style of home designs and resort facilities.

“There has been a very strong demand from over 55s in the area, and we have even had a number of couples buy off the plan after hearing that their friends had purchased a new home in the community,” Ms Richardson said.

The Ingenia difference

“The popularity rests with the simplicity of the model and the innovative architecture of the homes - which have been designed to be light and airy year-round.

“With such a simple model, Ingenia Lifestyle residents purchase a brand-new home but lease the land, which eliminates the need to pay stamp duty and removes a significant component of start-up costs and if or when they decide to leave, there are no exit or DMF fees to pay.

“The opportunity to downsize and free up cash reserves while remaining close to friends, family and local amenities has been a major drawcard, with many buyers suggesting the extra funds will allow them to travel more frequently.

“Tapping into that lock and leave trend, our community will include caravan and boat storage, with community management and maintenance staff to keep an eye on your home while you’re on the road. Anna Bay is the perfect base, centrally located to a number of local beaches and major travel routes for grey nomads looking to explore Australia’s east-coast.

“Locals who are interested are able to register and be one of the first to join us on site to take a look at the progress we’ve made, with the installation of a number of port holes into the construction hoarding.”

Latitude One will introduce new premium home options with an array of resort facilities including a resort-style pool, multi-million-dollar clubhouse, wellness centre, fully-equipped gym, business centre, competition-standard bowling green, heated pool, spa, sports bar and cinema.

Latitude One adds to Ingenia’s strong investment in the region, which includes retirement and holiday communities employing more than 50 people across the NSW Central Coast and Newcastle region. Ingenia owns a number of lifestyle communities in the Lake Macquarie and Hunter regions as well as Ingenia Holidays One Mile Beach and Ingenia Holidays Soldiers Point.
